How Texas Changed the Culture of American Athletics

University of Houston Center for Public History and UH Libraries will co-host an online talk with Dr. Frank Guridy, author of The Sports Revolution: How Texas Changed the Culture of American Athletics and associate professor of history and African American and African diaspora studies at Columbia University; Karla Lira, doctoral candidate in the UH department of history; and Dr. Mark Goldberg, associate professor of history at UH. The event will feature a discussion of Texas’s impact on American sports culture during the era of the Civil Rights and Second-Wave Feminist movements.
