Nevertheless, She Persisted! Program and Panel

Nevertheless, She Persisted! Program and Panel

The UH community is cordially invited to a program and panel featuring the stories of Houston-area women and the impact of the organizations represented in the exhibit Nevertheless, She Persisted! Women As Historic Influencers, now on display at MD Anderson Library through May 2025.

Join us for an insightful and celebratory conversation with:

  • Betsy Anderson, member of the Houston Assembly of Delphian Chapters
  • Nancy Grissom, brigadier from the Stephen F. Austin High School Scottish Brigade
  • Delores Smith, member and archivist of the Missouri City Chapter of The Links

The panel will be moderated by Carmen Peña Abrego, a community engagement and communications professional who worked in book publishing and with libraries for over 20 years. She was appointed to serve on the City of Houston’s inaugural Women’s Commission and is on the UH Women’s Gender & Sexuality Studies Advisory Council.

This program is open to all and free to attend. Refreshments will be served, and registration is required. A live-stream viewing option is available.
